Skeet Rod Review
We recently heard from a Skeet rod fan. This testimonial is just too good not to post. Thank you Shawn for taking the time to let us know your thoughts.
I recently purchased two Skeet Reese signature rods, a spinnerbait\wormbait model, which has quickly became my favorite, rod and a Senko rod. I own other rods that were much more expensive- a Setyr that was 250 dollars and a G Loomis rod that was 290 dollars and a couple Falcon Cara series rods that were 240 dollars each. I wish you guys had came out with these rods earlier. Not only are they affordable but they are easier to fish with than the more expensive rods I own. I’ve had 4 back surgeries and fishing hard for 8 hours straight takes its toll on me, especially in two and three day tournaments. Before I would have to stop fishing for sometimes 20 or 30 minutes towards the end of the day and lay flat on my back on the deck of my Skeeter boat while my partner ran the trolling motor for me because I hurt so bad by the end of the day I just couldn’t fish anymore. But after buying your rods, I’m fishing longer and hurting less, which translates into catching more fish and I can enjoy myself without being in too much pain. The spinnerbait\wormbait rod is so light and has increased my casting distance with less effort, and its so versatile I can do almost anything with it. I can throw spinnerbaits and I can even throw crankbaits without worrying about ripping the bait out of the fish’s mouth. Because of the soft tip it so sensitive I can use it as a shaky head rod. It’s just an awesome all around rod and the lifetime warranty inspires confidence. I had a G Loomis rod break on me last year while fighting a fish and not only did I loose the fish, but when I went to get a new one under warranty, it took almost 4 months and they sent me a rod blank and I had to find someone to put eyes on the rod. I was very disappointed especially after paying over 300 dollars after taxes for a rod to go through all that. I can see myself retiring the rest of my rods and buying a few more Skeet Reese signature rods real soon. If these rods are good enough for Skeet to use on the tournament trail and for him to bet his career on, then they should be good enough for anybody. I know they have won me over. Thank you for making such a quality rod and keeping it affordable.
Sincerely,
Shawn English

Thank you for this report,I’m 24 and i recently had a large surgery where I lost my large intestine and colon and almost my life. I’m married with two children(kayden, carson)and I was the only one working bc my wife is a full time nursing student, i spent several months in the hospital and we lost our house. I had g loomis rods I used inlocal tournaments that I had to sell in order to keep her car and I’m now able to fish again, and I have been looking for a series of rods with superior quality that I could afford on a disability check.I would personally like to thank Skeet Reese for giving the opprotunity to fish with quality equipment again. I dont have the money to get any at the moment, although I am confident that Skeet doesnt promote anything but the best. Only one question, what reels fit this series of rods the best?

Matt, Sorry to hear about your health issues, glad you are getting back on the water and feeling better!
Honestly Skeet loves the Abu Garcia Revo reel.
From Wright & McGill check out the Sabalos in spinning or baitcast models. I have fished them for several years and love em. The price for a great value applies here as well with a high end, completely sealed, quality, aluminum frame reels starting about $100.00 I don’t think you would find a better reel for the money anywhere
